In perfect conditions, Rainey II welcomed Queens II to Hatrick Park on Saturday. They had the better of the early exchanges, with No8 Bell and centre Kearns prominent in drives for the line, before out-half Pollock slotted over a penalty to open the scoring.

An injury to lock Brown forced a reorganisation, and Queens were quick to capitalise, scoring close to the posts, and grabbing an easy conversion.  They added another shortly after, but Rainey clawed their way back with a try from flanker D.Devlin following a 5m catch and drive.  The conversion was unsuccessful.

The second half was unfortunately all Queens as they added a further four tries with three conversions to run out 40 – 8 winners.  Despite the scoreline, this was a good performance from Rainey, with the back row of D.Devlin, Bell and Millar having a superb game, while lock C.Devlin was outstanding, including kicking a superb 50-20.
