Three tries in the first fifteen minutes helped Rainey OB II to a comfortable 32-19 home win against Bangor II. The visitors came back well, but Rainey finished the stronger to notch a bonus point with 32-19 success in Provincial 1.

In sunny conditions, it was all one-way traffic in the opening quarter as Rainey did almost as they pleased.  Second-row Higgins, centre Kearns and flanker Shaw crossed with Kearns converting the first two.  Bangor replied with  an inside break on the Rainey 22' and a  good offload.  A penalty pushed Rainey further ahead, but a penalty try from a scrum kept Bangor's hopes alive.

Hooker McGlone scored in the corner for Rainey who were always the better side and while Bangor grabbed a third try, scrum-half Lorcan Quinn got in on the act when he nipped over from a scrum in the last minute.  The presence of big Jack McIntosh, who only arrived home from playing rugby in New Zealand on the morning of the game, was a great boost.
